Hey all! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend, and that this new week is very kind to you.
I thought I’d try my hand (or arm actually) at doing a swatch pictorial to give you a better idea of how pretty the new Avon x The Face Shop Mono Pop Mood Coral Eyeshadow Palette really is, and how great it blends.
With this being my first attempt at color swatching eye shadow, I of course turned to Google and You Tube for how-to info, and I’m glad I did. It seems that sometimes in attempting to achieve the “perfect” color swatch, the color may have been applied using a different method than what you would normally use to apply it to your eyelids, resulting in an ineffective or inaccurate depiction of what you can actually expect to see when you apply the eye shadow for yourself once you purchase the product. So, with that in mind, and also hoping to achieve some sense of what you can expect in blendability, I first prepped my arm using my foundation and powder to give it the same type of base as what I would begin with in applying my makeup.

I used a regular eyeshadow wand to apply the colors. You can see the wand in the first picture above, and the next one below. I found that when applying this particular palette, I liked the little wand instead of an eyeshadow brush, as it yielded more color and sparkle bang than a brush did.

Another thing I love about this palette is the effective layering I can achieve. I first used the lightest color as a base then built upon it as I wished. For my look this weekend, I used the pink and then went over it with the taupe shimmery color (It’s the 2nd shimmer color on the far right side of the palette) in the middle of my eye, and my eyelid.

I also layered some of the coral shimmer to the middle of my eye area as well for a little more pop shimmery color.
With me going out for the evening, I decided to borrow some dark gray from my Avon Purple Haze Palette, and I used that around my eyes – over my Avon eyeliner pencil (black), and then I went over that with the dark brown from the Mood Coral palette to make the color tone more cohesive. I also used some of the dark brown in the crease and outside edges of my eye to blend and connect the lighter colors with the very dark eyeliner (line + shadow) look around my eyes.
That’s another fabulous point about this palette, it can go from a day to night makeup look. You can see that with the colors in this palette it will be easy to do a very pretty day look, and now you can also see, it is great for a more dramatic evening look, and for any age group. You’re never too young or old for pretty shimmery colors, and this palette has both matte and shimmery – so yeah, no matter what mood you’re in (coral or whatever), wherever you may be headed – work, date, etc., I definitely recommend this palette for it’s versatility and beauty.

The Mono Pop Eyeshadow comes in 2 different palettes, Mood Coral and Mood Brown, and are on special right now, buy 1, get 1 half price – Yay! Click Here to get yours!

So – one color swatching session under my belt. I hope it helped you to see the colors in action. I’ll try my arm at it again sometime soon to show you some of Avon’s other eyeshadow choices. They are all great – great colors – great wearability – etc.
Till next time, stay fabulous and always follow your joy!
