Trying VDL Lumilayer Primer and Free Sample Offer!

Have you heard of VDL Lumilayer Makeup Primer before? If not, you’re in for a real treat.

Avon has now added VDL products to their product lineup. The new product lineup at Avon has really grown since being acquired by LG Household & Health Care America, Inc. This is very exciting because it means that Avon is now carrying brands/products from LG’s own very popular lineup of product, one being VDL. We now have product from The Face Shop and Chi as well. I told you a while back that things were really moving and shaking at Avon. So fabulous!

I thought I’d give it a try, as it sounds so fascinating. I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s very light, and it looks like liquid pearls. No kidding.

Here is an arm swatch test of both the VDL Lumilayer Primer and the VDL Primer Fresh:

I put this on thicker than you would on your face, so that you could see the sheen and tone of each product. The VDL Lumilayer Primer is the one on the left – the pink toned product, and the Lumilayer Primer Fresh is on the right, the warmer toned product.

I’ve also done the swatch test on an orange, here’s how that went:

You can see the pearly shine, right? So pretty!

And the Primer Fresh. You can see that it is a warmer tone.

I think the orange swatch test showed off the VDL Lumilayer luminance, and the arm test showed the color tone and how it would enhance your own skin tone, so I’m glad I tried both types of swatch tests.

And I did try it on under my foundation — I’m calling this look Curbside Pickup Chic:

You can see how it gave my face a nice pearly glow. I topped it with Magix Dust Finishing Powder which is made of finely ground pearls and gems, and then dabbed a bit of matte powder on top of that because I was really glowing at that point! But I think this will really look great for all your summertime looks (and beyond – think about fabulous holiday looks coming up!). Check my new super short Pixie cut – I went for it! Haha!

But yeah, I think it really enhanced my light makeup look, and will also be giving it a try with a full makeup look soon. I’ll let you know how it goes. The pic above was just a quick trip to the store with hubby look. But you know, it’s fun to do a little something extra special for yourself even when it’s just a simple chore kind of day.
