Beauty Therapy: Perk-Me-Up Makeup Makeover

Ever had one of those days – or weeks? You can see that I certainly have. I am now on the road to recovery, thank goodness, but it’s been a very trying time for your ol’ Jfay here. I caught some type of bug on a recent road trip and it really took it’s toll on me. But in my always fighting fashion, as soon as I was feeling a bit better, and took a look at myself, I was like, “You need to pull yourself together, girlfriend!”. No doubt….

And you know what? It made me feel better. There’s just something about pulling it together and getting made up that changes my whole demeanor. How about you? No matter the situation – getting over an illness, inclement weather days, lock-downs, just whatever. When I’m feeling low, and looking even lower, it’s always great to take some time to pep myself up.

Once I made up my mind that I was ready to pull myself together, I first began with my skin. I of course was able to still wash and moisturize (barely..), but I used my Isa Knox Polisher and Collagen Booster Serum Ampules the night before to help my skin look better. I love this stuff so much. You’ll have to check out my blog post about this dynamic duo.

So, now time to get all prettied up! After washing my face, I then moisturized with my favorite moisturizer Physiogel Moisture Therapy, and knew that my skin was going to need some help in the brightness department, so I also applied VDL Lumilayer Primer Fresh for a bit of luster and more healthy radiance.

Next to foundation:

As you can see, I love my Cashmere Complexion Compact Powder Foundation. I first apply it with a damp sponge for full coverage, and then I go back over it with the dry sponge that comes with the compact to set and finish. It works just like a foundation (damp) and a setting powder (dry). There is great coverage without looking cakey or overly made up. There, already looking better. I use the C110 Cheesecake shade.

Okay! Let’s get something going on with those eyes.

Tattoo Station Brow Pencil and Ultra Luxury Eye Liner

For my brows I used the Tattoo Station Brow Pencil in Dark Gray, and the Ultra Luxury Eye Liner in Black. That’s already starting to bring my features back to life now. I knew I was still in there somewhere!

Now let’s really add some color back to my face, beginning with some eyeshadow. I have to have eyeshadow.

Looks like I jumped ahead a step and put on some blusher first. I’ll show you that in just a minute.

But for my eyes, I chose the Avon Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Qaud in Purple Haze. There are 10 Quads to chose from, and they’re curated in shades that go very well together for easy application. I thought a pop of purple would go well with my shirt, and I like wearing a dark gray right around my eye to help accentuate my brown eyes.

Let’s put some color on those lips!

I chose to wear Avon’s True Color Nourishing Lipstick in Dragonfruit Blush which is very very pretty, but a little bright for the pink in my shirt, so I topped that with Avon True Color Lipstick in Frostiest Mauve. Perfect! The True Color Lipsticks are on Final Sale it looks like. So if you’d like to get some Frostiest Mauve for yourself, better get it while it’s still available. Avon is adding a lot of new lipstick formulas, which is very exciting, but I’ll miss some of my favorites.

Okay, for my blusher and mascara.

fmg True Love Multi Palette and Love at First Lash Mascara

I just blogged about these two products actually. The (for Valentine’s Day) fmg True Love Multi Palette, and Love at First Lash Mascara.

The True Love Multi Palette is so cute and filled with 4 shimmery colors that can be used on both your cheeks and eyes. I wanted to try it out on my cheeks. I just kind of swirled the colors together and applied to my cheeks, forehead, and around my lower chin area. I really like the way it made my skin look more luminous, and certainly like I had healthy color back in my face. I’m really pleased with it, and glad I got myself this palette. I do not know how long it will be around since it was just released with the Valentine’s goodies, so if you’re interested you may want to snag one now while you can.

And my MOST favorite mascara – Love at First Lash. I couldn’t do without this. It really makes my lashes stand out with little effort on my part. I do not like to curl my lashes, and the Love at First Lash Mascara doesn’t seem to care. It does it’s job and makes my lashes stand out with just one coat. Two coats are really popping.

And here I am — feeling (and hopefully looking) like myself again.

I love my Avon beauty products. Jfay

It truly is amazing – the power of skincare and makeup.

Everything I use now for my skincare and makeup is Avon. I am not only a Representative, but a very devoted customer. Since going in all Avon, I really feel that it has been very transformative to me, for both my skin and my looks.

I love the ease at which I can use my Avon cosmetics and makeup. I like to look great, but not have to take 10 hours to get ready with so many layers, steps, and such. Know what I mean? Simple, easy, and very fine products.

Okay gang, I’m off for now. Hoping to feel better and better every day now. And this little skincare and makeup boost was just what I needed to help me go further in that direction.

I hope you take time to fix yourself up and feel fabulous too, no matter what the situation. It’s great therapy! Hey, there ya go – Beauty Therapy!
