If you are in the pursuit of a career selling beauty products so that you can work from home (or from anywhere), work at your own pace, set your own hours, etc., then I would greatly suggest you look no further than Avon.

Oh, you’re just saying that because you sell Avon — Well, I’ll answer that with a yes, certainly, and an also I have done my own research into the subject.

No other beauty consultant or beauty representative type of business that I have inquired into can even come close to what Avon offers on many different levels.

First and foremost in importance (to me) is that sign up is free. Secondly, I am never required to purchase and sell my own inventory, and thirdly, my Avon website is free for me to use. And bonus — Avon pays my state sales tax for me! This combo is almost unheard of with any other beauty business company. I have encountered other companies in which there is a monthly fee for your own website, plus you are required to purchase a certain amount in inventory each month that you are then responsible for selling or you loose your investment.

My only “requirement” or investment with Avon is that I make a purchase every Campaign (every 2 weeks). There is no dollar minimum requirement. It can be $5.00. It can be something personal that I want to use, or something that I purchase on behalf of a customer. Easy, peasy. That’s it. The rest is up to me in regards to how I wish to build my own personal business.

Avon of course has been around for many many years. In the old days it was a door to door operation, but in today’s world it can all be online, or if you prefer face to face, or door to door, then that option is still available and Avon does still have their paper brochures.

But you should see the new digital brochure!

And this is completely free for me to share with everyone. It is so fabulous, and so is Avon. They are very very generous with their Representatives. Celebrating My 3 Year Avon Anniversary!

You know the saying, that time flies when you’re having fun? Well, it truly does!

I cannot believe it’s already been 3 years since I signed up to become an Avon Rep. I initially signed up because I wanted to buy the little sample lipsticks, and now look what’s going on!

Avon has made a very positive impact on my life. Especially now in my mid-late 50’s, going through Menopause, and trying to feel good about myself. Avon has kept me interested in keeping myself looking the best that I can through healthy habits, makeup, and now growing out my hair, with the help of their wonderful hair treatments for thinning hair.

I am a true testament to Avon being there for everyone at every age. My very first skin care regimen in my teens was Avon, and Avon is still my skin care go-to to keep my skin looking it’s most youthful best.

After recently posting about Avon family traditions and my first memories of using Avon skincare from an early pre-teen age, I’ve been blessed to have some of my customers (whom I call friends) share their stories with me, and also a friend who was very excited about her Avon purchase shared a pic of her beauty haul, so I thought I’d share all of this love and fabulousness with you.

In the spirit of sharing Avon family stories, I have another fond memory from the 1990’s when my Son was very young. I sold Avon back then as well, and he and I would go door to door throughout our neighborhood. One of my neighbors still speaks of meeting us for the very first time when he and I came by to visit and leave an Avon book. Very fun and fond memories.

My friend Phyllis shared this with me on IG:

Like you, I grew up with Avon too, as my Mom was an Avon Lady and went door to door selling it!

I think that’s so wonderful that she has a memory of her Mom being an “Avon Lady”. That’s definitely what we were called back in the day.

Here are a couples of notes I received from my friend Mary via email. These melted my heart…

I couldn’t resist the Mini Lipstick Kit. When I was little (awhile ago, as I’m 69!), maybe about 6 or 7, my mother sold Avon, and she had these little sample lipsticks—a tiny ‘tube,’ about an inch high, with about 1/3” of lipstick. She gave me some, and I absolutely loved them. The colors! That clinched, then and there, my life-long love of lipstick and cosmetics. So there was no question about my ordering those mini lipsticks!

Apart from the ones she gave me, I used to love to just sit and look at all the colors in her collection of little lipstick samples for her ladies. And I remember going with her to deliver orders, with her all dressed up in her suit (this was the 50s!). I thought she looked so beautiful.
I love being reminded of that!

That is so awesome, and I am truly honored to now be their Avon Representative and help carry on the tradition and beauty products that we all love so much.

They were very impressed that I was taking such great care of my skin at an early age. I’ve always remembered that. It made me feel so grown up.

So, definitely, Avon has been a family tradition for me and a part of my life since my pre-teen years. I love it so much, and enjoy sharing my passion with all of you. When I speak of friends, it’s our little makeup helpers that can really make a huge difference in how we present our beautiful selves to the world.

I am doing this before and after makeover series at the age of 56, showing my no makeup natural self, so that I can hopefully encourage you to look and feel your very best, always, no matter your age. Hey, if I can do it, then definitely, so can you!

I just told you that I do not like to take a million steps to put myself together, so I really look for a foundation that has great coverage so that my skin looks flawless and gorgeous in 1 step. Cashmere Complexion does that for me. I normally use the Cashmere Complexion Compact Powder Foundation only, but decided to give the liquid formulation a try, and I really love it. I’m still using the Compact Powder Foundation as well, you’ll see in minute.

I really like the application wand. I just dot it all over (my cleaned and moisturized face – I cover that in Part 2), and then distribute and blend with a dampened sponge.

I love this so much! And you know what? I really like using the combination of the Longwear Liquid along with the Compact Powder Foundation as a great finishing touch. This can be worn as a foundation (damp or dry) alone, so it is not flaky or dry, and it has awesome coverage on its own, so hey, super flawless looking skin is a very achievable end result – and very quickly too.

If I’m in an extra big hurry, I just grab my Powder Foundation and give my face a quick once over and I look great to go.
