I just received my latest order from Avon yesterday! It’s always so exciting to me to receive my Avon box of goodies, so I thought I’d give you a little peek.
I got some of my lotion essentials, plus a couple of makeup items: Moisture Therapy Daily Skin Defense Hand Creams for me and Hubby, another Intensive Moisture Foot Works Cream that I had ordered last time – I really like it a lot, a Skin So Soft Comforting Shea Hand Cream (to keep on my desk), and then I needed a new compact of my very favorite Cashmere Powder Foundation, plus you know I ordered the new fmg Glimmer Satin Lipstick in Hibiscus, I’m so happy it’s here!
And not to worry, I’ll be showing you what’s inside the compact and lipstick tube soon. Which, the lipstick tube is really a pretty red, isn’t it? Avon’s lipsticks used to always come in a black tube, so this is great fun all by itself. Yes, I know, my Husband always says I’m easily amused! 🙂 🙂
Campaign 9 is up and running now with it’s very own specials. I hope you’ll stop by and snag yourself some Avon fabulousness. I’ll be sending out a special coupon code for my customers and email listers very soon, so if you’d like to receive one for your very own, just stop by my website and sign up! YourAvon.com/MyBeauty Scroll down to the bottom of the home page and you’ll see the Sign Up prompter.
Okay gang, I’m off for now. Just wanted to pop in for a quick minute. Hope you’re all getting ready for a wonderful Easter with your family and/or friends. Hubby and I are planning to play croquet and grill. What are your plans? Would love to hear!
How’s your relationship with you makeup foundation? Feeling good about it? Loving how it looks on your skin? I know for me, I like full coverage that is flattering and looks natural. How about you?
I’d like to share my favorite with you today. It’s Avon’s new FMG Cashmere Complexion Compact Powder Foundation. This formulation is like magic. It’s very lightweight, and not really “visible” as a full coverage makeup (as in harsh and cakey), because it is so light.
Look at my skin before makeup foundation application. I definitely can use some help to even my skin tone.
Of course the very first thing I do to prep my skin for makeup is to exfoliate and moisturize. I do not exfoliate every day. About 3 times a week. I love Avon’s Collagen Boost duo. You need to read my blog post about this pair. Soooo fantastic. My skin feels like silk after I use this set. I then moisturize with my new favorite moisturizer Physiogel Daily Moisture Intensive Cream. Wonderful, wonderful product and great for very dry and sensitive skin. I’ve also blogged about this product. For this makeup post, just a quick pic and link for you to take a peek at for yourself.
Okay, so skin’s fully prepped. Which, a quick note, I usually exfoliate and use the Collagen Booster ampules at night, so then the next day, right before I apply my foundation, I only use the Physiogel. Okay, let’s get that face looking gorgeous!
With the Cashmere Complexion Compact Powder Foundation, you can apply this wet or dry, or both. I usually do both. I use a separate makeup sponge (dampened), swirl that around in the compact, and then apply. This gives a great full coverage look. I then go back over it with the sponge that comes with the compact, either right after I apply the damp makeup, or after I’ve applied my blush, as a once over finish. As you can see in the picture above, as soon as I begin applying this, my face looks so much better, and so much more even-toned. I sometimes only apply this dry, especially if I’m in a hurry or if I’m not going anywhere that I need to get really fixed up for – like curbside pickup for example. But putting it on dry still gives me a very full coverage, and it’s so light that it just feels like my skin and not a lot of goopy makeup. It’s amazing. I love this so much I cannot even tell you. I suppose you can see by how much I’ve used in this compact already. I need to re-order so that I do not run out.
Looking fabulous dah’ling! This is my new best friend! I think it looks very natural, just like it’s my skin. Not heavily made up, which tends to age the look of our skin, but rather that my skin is just naturally flawless.
BENEFITS • Multi-use: can be applied wet or dry, and can be used as foundation or setting powder • Buildable medium-to-full coverage • Vegan collagen to keep skin looking supple and fresh • Lavender oil and artichoke and chamomile extracts provide antioxidant benefits • Amino-acid-coated pigments control shine and visibly smooth skin for perfected, all-day wear • Mirror compact with washable sponge • Good for all skin types
If you do like to use a concealer along with your foundation, well, there’s a Cashmere Complexion answer to that as well. I use this from time to time, but I usually get the exact coverage I need from the Powder Foundation.

It’s always good to try to look your best, no matter what your age. I know for me, it lifts my spirits and boosts my confidence when I feel that I am looking my best and shining my best light. Don’t be afraid to experiment with makeup just because you may be over a certain age. We can still wear bright colors and look our most vibrant best. Try it, and see what it does for you! And I definitely encourage you to try the Cashmere Complexion Powder Foundation. I love it for my mature skin. I feel that I look flawless and not heavy or cakey, which can show even more lines. Love the skin you’re in, and take great care of it as well through your diet, exercise, moisturizing, and special attention like the Isa Knox Microneedling Skin Polisher (exfoliator) and Collagen Boosting Ampules. Your skin will thank you for it and shine bright!
Till next time, stay fabulous and follow your joy!

Makeup for mature skin, over 50 beauty and style, look your best no matter your age.
Ever had one of those days – or weeks? You can see that I certainly have. I am now on the road to recovery, thank goodness, but it’s been a very trying time for your ol’ Jfay here. I caught some type of bug on a recent road trip and it really took it’s toll on me. But in my always fighting fashion, as soon as I was feeling a bit better, and took a look at myself, I was like, “You need to pull yourself together, girlfriend!”. No doubt….
And you know what? It made me feel better. There’s just something about pulling it together and getting made up that changes my whole demeanor. How about you? No matter the situation – getting over an illness, inclement weather days, lock-downs, just whatever. When I’m feeling low, and looking even lower, it’s always great to take some time to pep myself up.
Once I made up my mind that I was ready to pull myself together, I first began with my skin. I of course was able to still wash and moisturize (barely..), but I used my Isa Knox Polisher and Collagen Booster Serum Ampules the night before to help my skin look better. I love this stuff so much. You’ll have to check out my blog post about this dynamic duo.
So, now time to get all prettied up! After washing my face, I then moisturized with my favorite moisturizer Physiogel Moisture Therapy, and knew that my skin was going to need some help in the brightness department, so I also applied VDL Lumilayer Primer Fresh for a bit of luster and more healthy radiance.
Next to foundation:
As you can see, I love my Cashmere Complexion Compact Powder Foundation. I first apply it with a damp sponge for full coverage, and then I go back over it with the dry sponge that comes with the compact to set and finish. It works just like a foundation (damp) and a setting powder (dry). There is great coverage without looking cakey or overly made up. There, already looking better. I use the C110 Cheesecake shade.
Okay! Let’s get something going on with those eyes.
Now let’s really add some color back to my face, beginning with some eyeshadow. I have to have eyeshadow.
Looks like I jumped ahead a step and put on some blusher first. I’ll show you that in just a minute.
But for my eyes, I chose the Avon Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Qaud in Purple Haze. There are 10 Quads to chose from, and they’re curated in shades that go very well together for easy application. I thought a pop of purple would go well with my shirt, and I like wearing a dark gray right around my eye to help accentuate my brown eyes.
Let’s put some color on those lips!
I chose to wear Avon’s True Color Nourishing Lipstick in Dragonfruit Blush which is very very pretty, but a little bright for the pink in my shirt, so I topped that with Avon True Color Lipstick in Frostiest Mauve. Perfect! The True Color Lipsticks are on Final Sale it looks like. So if you’d like to get some Frostiest Mauve for yourself, better get it while it’s still available. Avon is adding a lot of new lipstick formulas, which is very exciting, but I’ll miss some of my favorites.
The True Love Multi Palette is so cute and filled with 4 shimmery colors that can be used on both your cheeks and eyes. I wanted to try it out on my cheeks. I just kind of swirled the colors together and applied to my cheeks, forehead, and around my lower chin area. I really like the way it made my skin look more luminous, and certainly like I had healthy color back in my face. I’m really pleased with it, and glad I got myself this palette. I do not know how long it will be around since it was just released with the Valentine’s goodies, so if you’re interested you may want to snag one now while you can.
And my MOST favorite mascara – Love at First Lash. I couldn’t do without this. It really makes my lashes stand out with little effort on my part. I do not like to curl my lashes, and the Love at First Lash Mascara doesn’t seem to care. It does it’s job and makes my lashes stand out with just one coat. Two coats are really popping.
And here I am — feeling (and hopefully looking) like myself again.
It truly is amazing – the power of skincare and makeup.
Everything I use now for my skincare and makeup is Avon. I am not only a Representative, but a very devoted customer. Since going in all Avon, I really feel that it has been very transformative to me, for both my skin and my looks.
I love the ease at which I can use my Avon cosmetics and makeup. I like to look great, but not have to take 10 hours to get ready with so many layers, steps, and such. Know what I mean? Simple, easy, and very fine products.
Okay gang, I’m off for now. Hoping to feel better and better every day now. And this little skincare and makeup boost was just what I needed to help me go further in that direction.
I hope you take time to fix yourself up and feel fabulous too, no matter what the situation. It’s great therapy! Hey, there ya go – Beauty Therapy!

This is where I report to you from, and do my makeup photography.
As you can see, I enjoy using the products that I love to share with you.
I was just talking with my sister last evening about getting my Makeup Room spruced up and ready for more in-depth photography, and told her, “You know, I’m about to turn 56 and I’m setting up to do even more makeup photography and blogging.” That’s really amazing. It just dawned on me – my age. I am very thankful that at 55 I’m still enjoying makeup and wanting to look my best – and to keep learning new things in the makeup field. It’s never to early or too late to celebrate our beauty, to appreciate it, and to work to preserve and highlight what we’ve got. I so admire those that are even more mature than I, and seeing them still shining in all their glory, and not giving up at any certain age on being the best that they can be, and that’s what I strive for as well, and to hopefully inspire others along the way.
Check out what’s coming up – I’m so excited!! A Parisian Holiday!
I welcome you to share in my makeup and beauty journey. Let’s see what kind of (good) trouble we can get into. Have some fun, and some laughs, and perhaps some gorgeous results too!
I told you I’ve been working on my eyebrow game. I’m getting pretty good at it, and plan to share what I’ve been learning with you very soon. I have (4) different products that I’ve been trying out, so stay tuned! I’ll also be sharing with you again my experience using the new Cashmere Complexion Makeup Foundation and Concealer. The Powder Foundation is to die for ladies, it covers so well, and yet looks so fresh. I am loving how my makeup looks even more now than ever before.
Okay, I’m off for now, but you know I’ll be back soon with more fabulousness to share with you.

I’ve been telling you about Avon’s new Virtual Makeover Tool and how to use it, so I thought I’d play around with it again and show you how it looks/works from my phone.
It really is very easy to use – and super fun. You can see that I was trying on some Glimmershadow Liquid Eyeshadow and some of the new FMG Ink High-Gloss Lip Lacquer shades. I did this right over makeup that I had on, so yeah, it’s really impressive, and looks pretty realistic to me, especially the lipstick. You would think that I was actually wearing these shades of lipsticks in my pics, but take a look at the first one where I’m trying on the Glimmerstick Eyeshadow and you’ll see the shade of lipstick I was actually wearing. More of a neutral tone.
The Virtual Makeover Tool covered up my actual lipstick really great and came through brilliantly with the shades I was wanting to try. I do advise, however, that you may want to try this with no lipstick or eyeshadow on, but as you can see, you can try on makeup from anywhere and at anytime. Just think how handy this will be when you’re trying on a new outfit. You can find the perfect makeup shades to go with your new outfit! Awesome!
Just look for the Try It On Button when you’re browsing my Avon website, or go directly to the Digital Catalog Page and scroll down to the Virtual Makeover Tool and the Shade Finder Tool.
When you see the Try It On Button on a makeup item, just click it and it will bring up your camera. It will show you the different shades to try on. You just click on the shade you’d like to try – hold still a moment – it will position the makeup color for you to see. You can click on the little camera icon to take a picture of yourself. It will give you a countdown clock from 3 -2 -1 to pose. You can then download the picture to your phone!
Try on as many makeup shades as you’d like of each product, and see how fabulous you look in each color!
I hope you have fun and enjoy the experience as much as I do!
I told you there were some really glam products this campaign!

What kind of statement do you like to make when you present yourself to the world? We are all many personalities (and sometimes many nationalities) rolled into one unique individual, and I think that is so wonderful.
I enjoy a dramatic look, especially with my eye makeup. I always have. I suppose it’s because I have very dark eyes. But I do love my eyeliner.
It’s been a little while since I put on a full face of makeup, and it felt really good! I’ve not been anywhere in a while to present any type of statement about me, but with the arrival of my new Shubra Statement Necklace from Jarlia by Jolina in London (an anniversary present), it gave me a good excuse to get dressed up for a photo shoot.
Jolina designs gorgeous African Egyptian jewelries and when I saw this necklace I immediately fell in love. I had been looking for something special to celebrate recently learning of my African ancestry, and this was definitely it for me. It is so gorgeous (dramatic, as I love), and does make a beautiful statement about me.
I had a lot of fun getting all my Avon makeup out again and getting dolled up. I use Avon exclusively for all my skincare and makeup, and I really love it. I am a youthful 55, and I greatly appreciate that Avon helps keep my skin looking great every day, no matter if I am wearing full makeup or going au naturale.
Here is a list of Avon products used for this shoot:
Magix Dust Finishing Powder – I LOVE this stuff! It’s brand new. You use a large powder brush and sweep this all over your face for a natural glow. It’s made with mineral powder like pearls and rubies. I received a compliment the other day that my skin looked glowing. I had used this!
Oh What Fun Mega Makeup Palette – Can you believe this is still available? This is the really cool makeup palette from Christmas time. I used a pretty pink blush from this collection as well as a shimmery light pink and gray eyeshadow. This is on final sale for $25.00. It’s full of all kinds of eyeshadow colors, blushes, lip balms, and a couple of highlighters. It also has makeup brushes. You really should snag one while it’s still there. This is amazing.
I hope you enjoy making your own personal statement about you – who you are, and how you like the world to see you. And I hope that Avon can help you make your own personal statement with all the gorgeous makeup offerings that they have available. There are a lot of new makeup items coming on the scene as well that I’ll be trying out and sharing with you, so I hope you’ll follow here and stay tuned. I appreciate your friendship and you being on this journey with me.
Till next time, stay fabulous, and always follow your joy.
I love trying different colors, although my default setting is usually plums (like my lipstick choices), but I do enjoy a pop of blue, so I decided to get the Avon True Color Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Quad in Steel Blues and give it a try.
I really like this palette. The tones go really well with my dark brown eyes. Number 1 is a nice Cream color, very neutral, so a great coverage right under the brow area. Number 2 is a really pretty silvery blue’ish gray. It’s a shimmery look. Number 3 is a medium gray, and Number 4 is a dark navy blue color.
Here are Avon’s How-To Instructions for application, by number:
• Lightest shade (1) goes on the brow bone
• Accent shade (2) goes in the inner corner
• Medium shade (3) goes in the outer corner
• Darkest shade (4) goes on the lash lines
Follow this Link to find the Steel Blue Eyeshadow Quad (#528-781) plus all the other Avon Eyeshadow Quad options. Hover over the little Eyeshadow Icons and it will show you each palette on the larger Quad pic to your left. It’s really cool. (P.S. They’re on special right now for $5.29!)
And here I am wearing my Steel Blues Eyeshadow. I used the Number 4 dark navy color as an eyeliner. One side of the applicator has a pointy tip, so it’s very easy to line with. I do also wear eyeliners, but this color has a great stand-out pop of color on its own, as you can see. I used the Number 1 cream color right under my brow, and actually all the way down to my lid, then the Number 2 silvery shimmer color in my mid-eye area and the Number 4 navy to line and also bring out the edges of my eye lid area and then blended upward with the silvery color. I didn’t use the Number 3 gray color with this look, but I’ll most likely use it when I go for a more plum-type palette. Since I was wearing black and white, I wanted to stick with the navy and silvery tones.
It’s fun to mix and match between the Avon Eyeshadow palettes. Sometimes I stay within one color palette, and sometimes I mix in between several. It just depends on the colors I’m wearing and my mood. How about you?
And now for that sneak peek I promised you!
It’s getting so exciting – as if things have not been exciting enough in Avon Land, but I’m already receiving glimpses of holiday goodness that is soon coming our way. Hooray!!
Coming up in Campaign 23, the theme is “Live Your Best Life, Every day’s a holiday!” It is filled with holiday themed limited edition items that are so fun and fabulous. I’ll go into more detail about it all soon, but I thought I’d share the Limited Edition Dream in Color Eye Palette with you on today’s eyeshadow themed post.
Look at all of those gorgeous colors! So bright and so shimmery! That’s a definite holiday makeup must-have. It’s described as a vision of beautiful possibilities with 16 versatile shades. Looks like it will list at $15.00. Along with that there is the Limited Edition I Am Flawless Brush Set. This will have four pro brushes to get holiday-ready on the go, it says. It will include the purple pouch with a zipper closure. This set will list at $20.00. These would make fabulous gifts as well. Look how pretty those brushes are.
And there’s a lot more! I know, I know, you just have to stay tuned! Wait till you see the cute little Own the Dance Floor (disco ball) Lip Balm.
Okay, I’ve teased you enough! Haha! I will close for now, but I do promise to return with more Avon fabulousness, and I leave you with always stay fabulous yourself, and always follow your joy, well wishes.
