How do you treat your neck and chest areas? Do you give them full attention or forget about them?
I always remember someone saying a long time ago that you can tell a woman’s age by her neck, and I’ve never forgotten that. It’s one of those things that always stuck in my head and I have been determined ever since to not let my neck look like yuck. Haha! Some things we can not help as we mature, but we can certainly at least try to keep and preserve as much as possible. It’s just like another old saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
So, what do I do to try to preserve my neck and chest areas as much as possible? For starters, I try to keep it as simple and easy as I do my facial care, which actually, I treat my neck and chest exactly as I do my face. That makes everything easy and seamless, and makes it so that I never forget.
First up is cleansing and moisturizing. I use the same cleanser and moisturizer on my neck and chest as I do on my face. And those are my 2 very faves – Rice Water Bright Foaming Facial Cleanser and Physiogel Moisturizer.
The Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser is so luxe (and it’s on sale for $11.00 right now). It’s like a whipped cream texture and cleans so delicately, smells so good, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. Love this so much. And I love my Physiogel just as much. The one I’m holding here is the facial lotion. I like this one, but I prefer the cream, so next order I’m going back to the cream, just because it is more luxe and I like the feel of it just a bit more, but they are both wonderful. The cream and lotion. So great for sensitive skin like I have. I smooth this all over my face, neck, and chest areas. Here’s what Avon says about their Physiogel line. You’ll love this:
Our Physiogel BioMimic Technology™ contains lipids that are similar to those found naturally in skin that help repair and strengthen skin’s moisture barrier, restoring the hydration your skin needs to stay strong and visibly healthy.
I’m linking you to the entire Physiogel Line so you can choose your favorite(s). They also have this in body lotion. So awesome!
Okay, so now we’re all cleansed and lotioned, what’s next? Well, if you’re of a certain age, you may want to go one step further and perhaps use a firming cream.
My choice is Avon Solutions Dramatic Firming Cream. This helps restore the elasticity of your skin. And super bonus, this is very, very affordable. Like $7.99 affordable right now. And again, great for sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin, so anything I show you here that I am using, my skin loves it. Here is Avon’s description of this product:
BENEFITS
• Collagen helps keep skin firm and resilient
• Vitamin E helps provide antioxidant protection
• Vitamin A helps smooth skin
• Pomegranate extract helps firm skin
• Dermatologist-tested, allergy-tested
• Phthalate-free, sulfate-free, petroleum-free
I like to use this Dramatic Firming Cream along my jaw-line downward. Sometimes up a bit on my cheeks, but it’s not to be used around the eyes.
And there you go. Easy-peasy, and does not take very long. Just include your neck and chest in your regular routine to keep those areas’ skin looking as fresh as your face.
Now, if you want extra bonus points, here are a couple more neck and chest beauty ideas for you.
I also use Avon’s Isa Knox Collagen products several times a week, which includes their Micro-Needling Polisher and Collagen Boosting Ampules.
When I’m exfoliating my face with the Microneedling Polisher (don’t worry, it’s very gentle), I bring on down my neck and onto my chest area.
Here is Avon’s description for you:
A highly effective combination of gentle exfoliators, including diamond powder and perlite, polishes away dull skin cells, diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and improves the appearance of pores for a smoother, more youthful look. You’ll see radiance reignited, fine lines and wrinkles reduced and skin re-plumped…and remarkably renewed.
This product is so popular that right now you have to Join the Waitlist, which I highly recommend. This is so fabulous.
I also love the Collagen Booster Ampules, but there is not very much serum in each Ampul, so it makes it as far as my jawline. You could open an extra one for your neck I suppose. I just treat these like extra special treasures. But I do follow up my neck and chest exfoliation with the Physiogel. My skin feels like silk after I use these products. I know I’ve told you that before, but someone may not have read my past posts. I use the Isa Knox Collagen Boosting routine about 3 times a week. These products are sold separately. The Collagen Booster Ampules are in stock and available. Again, great for my sensitive skin, so I highly recommend.
And – don’t forget to exercise your neck! I did a blog post a while back called “Girlfriend, You Need to Exercise Your Face”. You can check it out here.
I include the neck area into my facial exercises. See — always treat your neck as you do your face. Your neck will thank you!
And one of my last tips for neck and chest beautification is for when you’re applying your makeup. I’m sure everyone knows to blend your makeup down your jawline and have it gently fade so that there is no line distinction between your face and neck, right? Well, I also use Avon’s Magix Dust Finishing Powder to help with that issue, as well as give a beautiful smooth/finished look to my neck (and chest, if it’s showing).
This Magix Dust is wonderful! It’s made with precious gems. Here’s Avon’s description for you:
Ultrafine precious gems, crystals and minerals combine for an ethereal glow that’s pure Magix.
This weightless mineral powder formula sets makeup, diffuses light, visibly blurs pores, controls shine and blends effortlessly to create a silky feel and a naturally glowing soft matte finish. With antioxidant green tea extract to enhance and smooth skin. .21 oz. net wt.
Magix Dust is on sale right now for $13.99. In our next campaign there is going to be an offer for the Magix Dust + the Avon Pro Powder Brush that I’m using. The set will be $21.50, and is a $35.00 value. I’ll post that when it goes up.
Okay! So we’ve gone through neck and chest cleansing, moisturizing, exfoliating, toning, and finishing. It’s really not hard to do when you incorporate it into your regular facial routine.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration from today’s post. I love sharing fun and helpful ideas with you. Let me know what you use in your routine. I love to hear good tips as well.
